The Rolex Day-Date

When the Day-Date appeared in 1956 it was the first wristwatch to show both the date and the day of the week spelled out in full. Rolex has only ever made it in 18 ct gold or platinum, and the semicircular three-link President bracelet was created for it. It is the most formal watch in the Rolex range, and its association with world leaders earned it the "President" nickname.

Pre-owned buyers can choose between the traditional 36mm case and larger sizes. The Day-Date II, made in 41mm from 2008 until around 2015 in references such as the 218235 in Everose gold, gave the model more presence on the wrist; it was followed by the Day-Date 40 with the calibre 3255. Dials range from understated silver and black to stone and diamond-set versions, and the day can be shown in a number of languages.
