Clear terms for buying from SecondHand Timepieces, using this website and dealing with us.
About us
SecondHand Timepieces (Secondhand Timepieces Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company number 17466080, registered office Unit 23, 41 Gatwick Road, Crawley RH10 9RD) is an independent online specialist in fine pre-owned watches, with an office at 88-90 Hatton Garden, London, EC1N 8PN (by appointment only). We are not an authorised dealer for any brand we list.
Buying from us
You can buy any watch shown on this site directly from Secondhand Timepieces Ltd through our secure online checkout. These terms apply to those purchases. Every watch is a single piece. If the same watch sells elsewhere before your order is confirmed, we will tell you promptly and refund any payment in full.
Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed when we confirm your order by email or dispatch the watch, whichever happens first. Where online card payment is not available, we may send you a secure payment link after you contact us on WhatsApp or by phone, and the same terms apply.
Buying through eBay
For extra peace of mind, many of our watches can also be bought through eBay using the Buy on eBay button. Purchases made on eBay are governed by eBay’s terms, payment options and buyer protection, not the checkout terms on this page.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include free insured UK delivery. Payment is taken at checkout by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card details. We dispatch once payment has cleared. If we make an obvious pricing error, we will contact you before dispatch and you may cancel for a full refund.
Delivery
UK orders are sent free and fully insured by Royal Mail Special Delivery, with a signature on receipt. Risk passes to you on delivery. See Delivery & Returns.
Returns and your right to cancel
We offer a 14-day returns policy for a full refund. The watch must be returned in its original condition with all packaging, box and papers supplied. Contact us within 14 days of receiving the watch to start a return.
If you are a consumer buying online, you also have the right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. You may cancel within 14 days of the day you receive the watch, without giving a reason, by telling us clearly by email or phone. You then have a further 14 days to return the watch. We will refund the price and standard delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the watch back (or proof that you have sent it), using the original payment method. We may reduce a refund if the watch has been handled beyond what is needed to inspect it, for example worn, resized or damaged.
These rights are in addition to your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for goods that are faulty or not as described.
Authenticity
Every watch we sell is inspected and described honestly. See our Authenticity Guarantee. If a watch bought from us is proven inauthentic, we offer a full refund as described there.
Warranty
Watches come with a 12 month mechanical warranty where stated on the listing.
Selling to us
Offers to buy your watch are subject to physical inspection and valid identification / proof of address where required for pre-owned watch purchases. There is no obligation until you accept an offer in writing.
Viewings
Hatton Garden viewings are by appointment only. We may decline or rearrange an appointment at our discretion.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
